Functional Nutrition

As a Functional Nutrition Counselor, I  specialize in helping people who’ve tried everything and still aren’t at the level of health they desire.

What is Functional Nutrition?

Functional Nutrition recognizes that you’re the expert on you.

Functional Nutrition takes the teachings of Functional Medicine and customized them for nutrition and lifestyle counseling. This unique approach allows me to reveal the source of your suffering and create a customized nutrition and lifestyle solution for you or your child.

Maybe you've already tried everything, for you or your child without sustained relief.

In the search for health and healing, it’s tempting to turn towards protocols that promise results. Protocols are everywhere, in social media posts, wellness blogs, and books.

They often look like easy solutions: “Follow this elimination diet,” “Drink this juice every morning,” “Eat only during this window.” And they offer clear instructions, promising a direct path to a better place.

Protocols often provide only a temporary fix, addressing symptoms without tackling the deeper issues.

Health isn’t one-size-fits-all. Each body has its own needs.

Protocols rarely account for individual physiology, genetics, lifestyle, or personal history. A diet that works wonders for one person may worsen symptoms for someone with a different digestive profile, hormone metabolism and even trauma history with food. A supplement protocol to boost energy might trigger headaches, digestive discomfort, or even fatigue when not aligned with your body’s unique needs.

This compartmentalized approach misses the bigger picture. As a result, we may experience a brief improvement in one area, only for issues to reappear elsewhere because the root causes remain unresolved.

Protocols are missing something crucial—they overlook the reality that your body is complex and unique.

Life is unpredictable, and trying to follow a precise set of instructions can lead to feelings of guilt, anxiety, burden, and even failure when we slip up.

Instead of a protocol, you need a system that understands how everything is connected.

An effective approach allows space for flexibility, individualized progression, and adjustments.

In Functional Nutrition we focus first and foremost on the foundational pillars for true sustained and profond healing. These include Sleep and Relaxation, Exercise and Movement, Nutrition and Hydration, Stress and Resilience, Relationships and Networks, and Faith and Spirituality. Though they may seem simple, their impact on your health outcomes is more profound than you might realize.

Start here, with the basics that remind you what your body needs, and allow healing to follow. You may, or may not, need further interventions. But without these foundations, any solution you try will not have the stability it needs to serve you fully.

Functional Nutrition
is where science meets your story

1. You are Unique

Your physiology, and your symptoms, are the way they are today because of myriad factors which are singular to you. You (or your child) do not fit into a formula. You are not a statistic. You are an individual with a particular history, body and lifestyle. I work with all of these factors to create a custom-made plan for you.

2. There are likely many root causes to your symptoms.

There are many factors to your suffering, and you need to address them all. There is no single pill or protocol that will help you get well. We need to help you find all the holes in your particular roof, and plug as many of them as we’re able.

Functional Nutrition works from two foundational truths
