What is Somatic Experiencing ?
Restoring Balance After Trauma Through the Body
Developed and taught in more than 45 countries, Somatic Experiencing® enjoys international recognition for its effectiveness in trauma healing.
Trauma does not only come from what happened to us.
It mainly comes from what our body and nervous system were unable to complete at the moment of shock.
The Somatic Experiencing® method, developed by Dr. Peter A. Levine, is based on a simple principle:
trauma is not healed solely by talking or analyzing the past… it is also released through the body.
Why Is the Body So Important?
When we experience a difficult or threatening situation, our body prepares to defend itself:
to flee, to fight… or to freeze.
If this reaction remains blocked, the nervous system does not fully return to balance.
This can lead to:
-
anxiety and panic
-
anger or irritability
-
chronic fatigue
-
sleep disturbances
-
feeling “cut off” from oneself
-
relationship difficulties
-
symptoms of post-traumatic stress
Somatic Experiencing® helps to naturally restart this regulation process.
Unlike approaches focused solely on talking or analyzing the past, Somatic Experiencing® works through the body and physical sensations.
The effectiveness of this method is based on a simple yet powerful principle: the body has a natural capacity for self-regulation and healing. When given the appropriate space and pace, it knows how to restore balance.
it is not about reliving the trauma or recounting in detail what happened.

A gentle and progressive approach
Here, it is not about reliving the trauma or recounting in detail what happened.
On the contrary, the work is done gradually and safely, by bringing attention to bodily sensations.
We move forward in small steps, without forcing anything.
This approach allows you to:
-
release tensions stored in the body
-
reduce a constant state of alertness
-
regain a sense of inner safety
-
transform helplessness into the capacity to act
-
strengthen resilience
Little by little, the nervous system regains its balance.
Who is this approach aimed at?
Somatic Experiencing® can support:

recent or past traumas

My Guidance
Sessions are available in person or online via Zoom.
The Somatic approach has literally changed my life.
The anxiety that used to be part of my almost daily landscape has given way to a more stable sense of inner calm and resilience. Even though anxiety still arises at times, it no longer controls me as it once did — it is more temporary and less frequent. The sensations in my body no longer frighten or control me.
Here, there is nothing to prove and nothing to force. You are always in control and always have a choice. This is the antidote to trauma — when there was neither choice nor control.
Through Somatic Experiencing®, we will gently give your body a voice again. Because your body knows. It holds the memory of your wounds… but also the key to your healing.
I accompany you with presence, attuned listening, and kindness.
At your pace. Always.
This work is not only about “feeling better.” It is about coming back to yourself — about rediscovering your inner refuge.
About feeling more alive, more free, more fully yourself.
I would be honored to walk a part of this journey alongside you.
